Saturday alone...

I got up this morning and ran errands. I went to Opp and bought some HUGE bows for Emma Kate, now if she'll just leave them in. My mother in law is going to start keeping the kids on Monday, which I'm happy about, but I'm really going to miss Jamie and all the other daycare ladies. I guess I'm going to go to the gym and then pick up the kids.

Stranger...

I've been a stranger to the blog lately...or at least my own. I have loved reading everyone else's, so I've decided to spend more time on my own. Layne is growing up so fast now. Monday Layne and Emma Kate are going to start staying with my mother-in-law. I'm kind of excited. I think it will be good for the kids because they will get to see their cousins more often and I'm planning on putting Layne in Little Friends this Fall. Mike only has five more weeks of school and he'll be home. I can't wait. Not that I miss cleaning up behind him or anything, but I do miss getting to go to sleep w/o the tv on or not having someone to watch HOUSE with. I'm thinking about buying him a big green egg for his graduation present, but I'm not sure if he'll like it or not. Any suggestions? I'll try to post some updated pictures soon.

First Post 2009

Well...this is my very first post. I have just started back to school after two weeks of Christmas break. I forget how much I hate school until I start back and become extremely stressed out. Also, Mike just left yesterday to head back to school so I'm with the kids for the next 15 weeks except for the 8 weekends he's going to come home. He's gone to lineman school in Trenton, GA. I'm so excited for him because this is the job that he has been wanting to get since we have been married. Layne is 3 1/2 now and he is getting smarter by the minute. Emma Kate just turned one January 3rd and she is started to walk better each day. Tonight she walked from one side of the living room to the other. Layne has been "Peter Parker" for the past two weeks, and for those of you who don't know who that is, it is Spiderman when he's not in costume. And then we have Spiderman also, when Layne tears his shirt off that he wears over his costume.
Our friends Jana and Joey had their baby last Friday Jan. 2nd. I was so excited, but I was hoping she could have been born on Emma Kate's birthday, but I'll settle for 364 days apart instead. Her name is Kinsley Michelle Short and she is absolutely adorable. Deep down I hope that her and Layne end up together, I would be super excited, but I'm not going to push it.
